Process Control and Automation: • Tune PID control loops for various critical control valves to stabilize level and pressure controls within operational units. • Collaborate with Process Engineers to diagnose control issues, implement solutions, and optimize the performance of automated control systems. • Ensure automatic systems operate within safe and efficient ranges by optimizing control strategies and removing unnecessary manual restrictions. • Conduct system tests and simulations to predict system behavior and optimize PID settings under various operating conditions. • Identify and resolve issues related to process instability, equipment malfunctions, or system disturbances within the control systems. Control System Design and Optimization: • Design and implement automated control systems and strategies that address process stability, particularly in slugging or surge conditions. • Develop control philosophies in conjunction with Process Engineers that cater to system dynamics and enhance overall equipment performance. • Ensure seamless integration of new control systems with existing operational frameworks to minimize disruptions during system upgrades. System Monitoring and Maintenance: • Monitor control systems continuously to detect irregularities, diagnose problems, and implement corrective actions. • Maintain a preventive maintenance plan for control systems, focusing on PID settings, performance, and calibration. • Manage documentation for system changes, ensuring all adjustments are well-documented and compliant with company standards. Collaboration and Support: • Work closely with Process Engineers to align control tuning with overall process optimization strategies. • Provide technical support to operational teams, ensuring they are knowledgeable about the functioning and maintenance of automated systems. • Support commissioning and start-up activities by tuning and configuring control systems for operational readiness. • Participate in safety reviews and risk assessments to enhance control system safety and reliability.
• Bachelor’s degree in in Automation Engineering , Process Engineering or a closely related field. • Minimum of 10 years of experience in process automation within the oil and gas industry. • Extensive background in tuning PID loops and optimizing control systems across various operational scenarios. • Familiarity with instrumentation and control valve characteristics essential for effective process control. • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to effectively collaborate with engineering and operations teams. • Advanced experience with process control strategies, including modeling and dynamic simulations. • Comprehensive understanding of industry standards and safety regulations pertinent to process automation. • In-depth knowledge of control system design, PID loop tuning, and automation optimization in an industrial setting. • Experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), and SCADA systems. • Strong analytical skills to understand process dynamics and implement appropriate control strategies. • Proven ability in troubleshooting and optimizing automated systems.
