On 11 September 2024, a forum dedicated to increasing Kazakh content in the Polyethylene Project was held in Atyrau, bringing together more than 100 Kazakh companies. The event was organised by Silleno LLP and Petrocouncil Oil and Gas with the support of NC KazMunayGas JSC. 

The key topic of the forum was increasing participation of Kazakhstani companies in the construction of the polyethylene complex, and a detailed construction plan and equipment requirements were presented. The project is aimed at increasing local content not only in the volume of products, but also in the performance of works and services, which is important for the development of the native industry.

In addition to the polyethylene plant, a gas processing plant with a capacity of 9.1 billion м³ is planned to be built in Atyrau, and 8000 permanent job places are expected once the project is launched. Operators have noted that Kazakh companies must meet the standards of the international co-operation conference.
