The Automation SIS Engineer is responsible for analysis and qualification of Safety Instrumented System (SIS) Safety Instrumented Functions (SIFs) as Independent Protection Layers (IPLs). This role involves data gathering and analysis of SIFs to ensure achieved Safety Integrity Level (SIL) meets the required performance level as defined in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) Layers of Protection Analysis (LOPA) studies. Qualification includes verifying design criteria and also ensuring inspection and test programs are in place to assure performance in operation.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in engineering (electrical, electronic, automation)
Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in Instrumentation & Control and Automation field. SIS (safety instrumented system) experience is preferred.
Preferred qualifications include: Operating plant experience. Good understanding of process plant equipment and processes. Good instrumentation and control knowledge. Thorough understanding of functional safety and safety integrity level concepts.
