Automation SIS Engineer

he Automation SIS Engineer is responsible for analysis and qualification of Safety Instrumented System (SIS) Safety Instrumented Functions (SIFs) as Independent Protection Layers (IPLs). This role involves data gathering and analysis of SIFs to ensure achieved Safety Integrity Level (SIL) meets the requried performance level as defined in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) Layers of Protection Analysis (LOPA) studies. Qualification includes verifying design criteria and also ensuring inspection and test programs are in place to assure performance in operation.

Bachelor of Science degree in engineering and 5 years of experience preferred. Preferred degree is Instrumentation/Electrical Engineering. Minimum of 10 years relevant experience in lieu of academic performance. __ Preferred qualifications include: Operating plant experience. Good understanding of process plant equipment and processes. Good instrumentation and control knowledge. Thorough understanding of functional safety and safety integrity level concepts.
