Lead Project Engineer

The Future Growth Project (FGP) is an expansion of an existing asset in Tengiz, Kazakhstan. The project scope involves a new oil production facility, additional wells, a pressure boosting facility, oil stabilization and gas dehydration facilities, sour gas re-injection facilities, power generation, utilities and expanding the existing gathering system, in an extreme climate environment in Kazakhstan. Modularization is a key part of the execution strategy, designed to minimize project schedule duration and maximize project value. A large percentage of the facilities are fabricated in module yards and transported to the construction site. The project is currently in the site execution phase and the main engineering focus is Construction and Systems Completions support and this position is part of the integrated FGP Engineering organization consisting of Site and Home Office engineering teams with offices in Farnborough, New Delhi, Atyrau and Tengiz. The FGP Lead Project Engineer reporting to the Deputy FGP Engineering Manager functions as Company representative in the contractor’s office. This position provides leadership and guidance to the Company and Contractor teams and will coordinate the activities of discipline engineers (process, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and controls as required) and will work closely with Field engineering, Construction, Systems Completion and other project functions located globally (operations, regulatory, procurement, project controls, etc.) to manage the contractor to execute and complete the FGP project. The project engineer will ensure the project safety, cost, schedule, quality, reliability, and operability are achieved during detailed design and follow-on engineering execution of respective scopes of work; also responsible for successful execution of several contracts and purchase orders. This assignment will be based in Contractor's office in Farnborough, United Kingdom. Business trips to the company’s offices in Atyrau, New Delhi, and the facility in Tengiz, Kazakhstan are required Critical skills to drive success include the ability to: Prioritize, multi-task and drive activities to closure while overseeing the Contractor’s execution plan and schedule Collaborate and communicate at all levels to coordinate alignment between various Construction, systems Completions and Operations stakeholders

The position requires a high level of experience in the design and construction of major oil and gas processing facilities, that include a broad base knowledge of Contractor’s multi-discipline work processes, as well as ability to lead and troubleshoot complex technical issues i.e.: Fit-for purpose engineering solutions, HAZOP validations, design and safety reviews. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent and 15+ years in an Engineering discipline (Mechanical/ Chemical) OR 20+ Yrs Engineering experience of which 10+ as Engineering Lead on Major Capital Projects
