Job Description:

Daily monitoring/inspections of fiber optics and telecom system during the construction
Executes the specific inspections on materials, equipment and construction/installation activities on site
Carry out inspection underground Fiber Optics/Telecom cable systems, splicing, testing, termination, cable placement, construction/infrastructure
Covers all aspects of basic fiber/telecom, power line applications from receipt inspection and cable pull inspection to various forms of termination
Attend to witness and Hold point inspections of approved Inspection & Test Plans (ITP's)
Collecting, updating and filing all relevant inspection records.
Ensure Fiber Optic cable pulling load and bend radius shall not exceed manufacture specifications
Verify that all connectors and splices are correctly installed
Ensure non-conformances are identified, tracked and closed out prior to acceptance of the work
Inspect Telecom/Fiber optics cables and connections for physical and mechanical damage
Verify that all Equipment / Cable connectors and splices are correctly installed.
Verify cable identification markers, glands and fitting as per specification, earth bonding end armored fiber optic cables
Review and maintain calibration and test records for testing equipment at site
Carry out regular surveillances and issues surveillance reports
To review Contractor’s’ test equipment calibration certification
To assist in Turnover activities after completion of Construction
Interface with engineering, planning and procurement as well as other disciplines.
Review company specifications, drawings, method statements, QC procedures and inspection test plans. Maintain daily reports and log of daily activities

Job Requirements:

BS Degree in Electronics or Communication Engineering is required
Previous experience working as a QA/QC Inspector within the telecommunications/Fiber installation.
Familiar with international Codes and Standards, National norms and standards Electrical/Instrumentation installation
Inspectors shall have knowledge and understanding of ISO 9001: quality system requirements and implementation
Must be able to read, write, interpret and communicate (both written and verbally) detailed technical concepts in English
Knowledge of instrumentation, automation,telecommunication works;
Knowledge of Quality Control principles
